For the fantasy section of my book I wanted to create some maps to a) help orient readers with the world of the fantasy part of the story, and b) to pay homage to the long tradition of creating maps for fantasy books.
When I was writing the fantasy sections of my book, I originally drew maps to help me keep track of various locations. More recently, I worked with the excellent Daniel Hasenbos to help turn my amateurish sketches into professionally rendered maps.

Since my book also takes place in the "real world," I also had Daniel create a map of the real-world locations featured in the novel:
